Matchmaking Macedonian & Norwegian SMEs
The Matchmaking programme’s main goal is to find partners for Norwegian companies in Macedonia, and where the Macedonian companies can be sub-suppliers to the Norwegian and if possible produce Norwegian products for the Macedonian market.
The programme allows for direct contact between selected Macedonian and Norwegian companies. The interest is on both sides – Norwegian companies face lowered competitiveness due to high labour costs, while Macedonian companies need to access foreign markets through collaboration with partners thus increasing their export. The collaboration type to be established is solely based on the interest of the two companies: joint venture, import/export, investment in Macedonian company, collaboration on international tenders etc. SINTEF doesn’t get involved in the negotiations between the companies.
This is the picture of the project flow.
Project results:
- 173 Macedonian companies applied for the programme in the period from 2003-2005
- 111 Macedonian companies visited and profiled for the needs of the Matchmaking programme
- 35 Macedonian companies visited by 18 Norwegian companies in the scope of 4 matching sessions
- 6 additional Macedonian companies submitted offers upon request from 4 additional Norwegian companies
- Organised 3 joint meetings between Macedonian and Norwegian companies as well as 51 one-to-one visits
